Old Man's Acre, Kent

Romden Road

Uploader's Comments

Romden Road runs parallel to The Street at Smarden and about half a mile to the south of it. In this direction it leads to Romden. Romden is a tiny hamlet and seems to mainly consist of Romden Castle (a rambling 'castle' with a 16th-century tower) and Romden Bridge, as well as the intriguing name of 'Old Man's Acre'. Wild roses brighten up the May hedgerow here.
