This barn is seen from just before the footpath from Smarden reaches the hamlet of Romden at Romden Road. Romden is a tiny hamlet and seems to mainly consist of Romden Castle (a rambling 'castle' with a 16th-century tower) and Romden Bridge, as well as the intriguing name of 'Old Man's Acre'.
