This trig pillar has a rather uncommon recess cast into the top half - never seen one quite like that before. There are no obvious holes or fixings for any sort of plaque, so its purpose is not entirely clear. The flush bracket, by contrast, is given an altitude of 522.427m above Ordnance Datum Newlyn.
