The view from the top of the holloway on Winterbourne Down. Winterbourne Bassett can be seen in the distance just left of centre. Though not a bridleway or public footpath, this track is open to public access. It crosses the scarp of the Down where the Lower Chalk (now known as the Grey Chalk subgroup) plateau below is overlain by the Upper Chalk (now called the White Chalk subgroup) above.
