This photograph shows a view of the country lane (Raikes' Lane) that links Sneatonthorpe with the B1416 road (behind the photographer). The lane ascends gradually and continually from Sneatonthorpe to its junction with the B1416. A part of the North Sea can just be seen on the horizon beneath the sky. The picture was taken looking in a northerly direction towards Mortar Hall Farm.
