At "the Piles" it's snowing and the spaniels love it. There's a strong southerly wind whistling downstream which pains the wet hands and a river temperature a few degrees above freezing. Soon I will be standing waist deep in that but all the time there's the chance of a "take" from a fresh fish and that is the driving force which propels the Spring salmon angler.
