Much of a large forestry plantation here was felled in 2014, to allow access for the construction of the large electricity pylon seen in the centre. The pylon is one of many which support the Beauly to Denny power line, to transfer renewable energy from Beauly, near Inverness to Denny, near Falkirk, a route of 220 km (137 miles).
