Paddling southwest down Loch Linnhe, this small beach comes into view immediately upon rounding the small headland of Bogha Ruadh. The name hardly distinguishes this headland from any of several others - all are composed of the same "red" rock - in reality a pale pink, medium-grained porphyritic biotite granite of Late Caledonian age (c 418 million years).
