Newton Fell, Cumbria

Last light on Newton Fell

Ali is standing on the topmost rocks of the un-named 221m summit due east of High Newton. It is CRoW access land and can be gained from the road below via a wooden stile/ramp over the nearby wall. It is a great viewpoint for the long limestone plateau of Whitbarrow seen here in the middle distance. The rocks of the summit (indeed the entire ridge of Newton Fell) are Silurian siltstone most prominently displayed to motorists on the A590 at White Stone [[1157443]]
