After starting a bike ride in Llanarmon DC, and flogging up the metalled road, climbing this unsurfaced track is, frankly, hard work, and there's still another couple of hundred feet to go. In an article published about mountain biking in the area some years ago in the Mountain Bike Rider mag, this was referred to as 'the Pheasant Track - as it's awash with the silly birds." Still basically true.
