Two Bronze Age round barrows can just about be made out here as low lenses of green on the nearest horizon. To the left is a bowl barrow, in which a primary cremation in a tree-trunk coffin was found, which also contained a bronze dagger with two rivets, when it was opened by Merewether in the 1849. http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/artsheritageandlibraries/museumhistoryheritage/wiltshireandswindonhistoricenvironmentrecord/wshermap.htm?a=d&id=29190
