Whittle Mill was a water mill first recorded in 1560 and again in 1653. In 1805 the mill had two pairs of grinding stones and a drying kiln. The building was later used as a house but now ruined and the remains of a wheel bay can be seen at its south-west end. Two mill ponds can be seen nearby, though they are overgrown with weeds.
