White Cross Bay, Cumbria

Monument at White Cross Bay Windermere

Uploader's Comments

White Cross Bay, on the east shore of Windermere is now a holiday resort with lodges for tourists. The area was once the site of the Sunderland Flying Boat works where thirty two aircraft were constructed during WWII. The slipway that is now used for launching pleasure craft is just to the south of this curious monument.
