A small climb by South Downs Way standards, but at this point, about 70 miles into a full 100, it's enough to hurt. One of the participants in the 2015 British Heart Foundation's ride along the full 100-mile length of the South Downs Way is visible, slogging slowly uphill beside the bushes.
