Peat Banks on Herdship Fell

Uploader's Comments

Herdship Fell (also known as Viewing Hill) lying N. of Cow Green Reservoir is a typical North Pennine moor with heather and grass dominant. Deep peat has accumulated and in many places has eroded to create peat banks such as these. The hill beyond is Great Stony Hill though other names are sometimes used.
