The 1:25000 map shows this track correctly, but the 1:50000 map shows it further south. Aerial photography shows that something lies where the 1:50000 map shows the track, as the vegetation is a different colour - perhaps the track used to go that way, unmetalled, but a newer one was built here as the shortest distance to the road. This track lies directly opposite the public footpath heading NW across the moor, cutting the corner in the road.
