Ledge drop on the Upper Swale - low water

Uploader's Comments

For those new to the Upper Swale, paddling in high enough water to put on at Hoggarths Bridge (High Bridge), this unnamed ledge drop can come as a slight surprise, very soon after starting the trip and not expecting anything technical before Wainwath. The line, in high enough water to make a trip worthwhile, is over the projecting rock just right of the centre of the picture, where a good boof stroke will take you clear of any stopper and onto a landing in deep water. Paddling over the ledges which take up most of the width of the fall can be a bit jarring to the back !
