The Lochranza Hotel (on the left) in the eponymous village on the north coast of Arran. A regular ferry service plies between Lochranza and Claonaig on Kintyre (see [[[2968622]]] for a photo of the ferry). The hotel is well positioned for anyone wishing to catch an early ferry, and I can attest has comfortable rooms and good food. Its bar (when we were there) was well frequented by locals and visitors alike and has a stunning array of whiskies - 365 on show with about the same again in reserve apparently; varying dramatically in price from
