There's always more water in the rivers when the weather is bad, but on this February day, we had managed to pick a river which was at just a nice level. Unfortunately the wind was blowing upstream so hard that we abandoned the idea of paddling the Middle Duddon and put on here in Ulpha, where there is limited parking just by the river. The trip from here is mostly grade 2, with a few livelier bits and one or two harder rapids towards the end ( [[[1196142]]] ).
