A fence crosses the summit area of Broom Fell as does a path and the elegant cairn with another cairn-shelter beside it gives this location the feel of a hill summit. However the highest point of Broom Fell lies about 175m to the SE on an area of rougher grass. The distant snowed hills are the Skiddaw group.
