Thringarth Pasture, County Durham

Wythes Hill from Black Scar

Uploader's Comments

Looking over the steep-sided valley of Carl Beck to Wythes Hill and North Wythes with the sudden realisation that my route (and that of the Pennine Way) passes close by the farm. Below, standing on the lip of the valley, is the farmer and his dog, out shooting rabbits. The upland hay meadows around the farm, known as Thringarth Pasture have been cut to provide winter food for the animals. Colin Hill rises behind the farm with Sleight Edge the highest point on the right.
