This area was a field in the 19C, but on the 1924 OS map it appears to have been a plantation, still fenced off from Wain Wood. The name suggests that rabbits were kept here, but I could not see any mounds. However the ground is carpeted by nettles, which I suppose might thrive on ground that has been manured by rabbit droppings.
