The road is on the north side of Cwm Callan, south west of the ruined farm at Blaencallan. The approaching Landrover was one of several that passed during the photographer's walk along the road. The road is generally in a poor and worn state and it's likely that there's some antagonism towards this recreational use of it. A short time after the image was recorded the vehicles had come to a halt further down the route and their occupants were removing a sizeable rock from the road surface. Passing them, we soon came upon another collection of large rocks lying loosely upon the road; there was no obvious way that any of the boulders could have arrived on the road by natural forces and it's possible that they had been put there to obstruct the (wrongful?) use of the road by such traffic.
