The nearest land is part of the Hermaness peninsula on Unst. Beyond that are the North Neaps in NW Yell, with just the edge of Gloup Holm visible on the right. Just right of centre is Fladda in the Ramna Stacks, and on the far right is Outer Stack. Gruney is to the left. Beyond, on the right, behind the Ramna Stacks is the isle of Uyea. Just visible through the narrow gap separating Uyea from North Roe are Muckle Ossa and Little Ossa, which are just over 50 km distant.
