An early picture of Queen Bess Rock, long before she lost her head during a violent storm in 1982 (see: [[54649]] taken by David Hawgood in 2005). The rock was said to resemble Queen Elizabeth the first, complete with lace ruff. The picture was taken in August 1935 by my Great-Uncle, the Rev. E. V. Tanner, whilst on the annual family Summer holiday to Cornwall. For another picture of Queen Bess with her head see [[4403510]] also taken by David Hawgood but in 1951.
