Smoke across the moor

Uploader's Comments

Controlled heather burning on Eavestone Moor. Distant smoke on the grouse moors is a common sight in both autumn and early spring as patches of old heather are burnt as part of the moor management. The bright light in the centre of the photo is due to sun reflecting off the windows of a vehicle.
