Short Gill, Cumbria

Shepherd's cairn above Short Gill

Uploader's Comments

This small cairn sits prominently just above a tumbled down stone structure (possibly a small fold or even a building connected with the pits shown on the map close by). It was almost certainly built as a marker to help locate the fold by a shepherd.
