Shallowford, Staffordshire

Up Relief express south of Norton Bridge

Uploader's Comments

View northward, on the WCML towards Crewe etc. The wires are already erected on this busy four-track section of the WCML between Stafford and Crewe, but it is still some years before the electric trains began running. This train, of unrecorded origin and destination, is headed by Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45039 (built 1934, withdrawn 8/67).
