Little Rundale Tarn is one of three large bodies of water in the moorland area between the valleys, Great Rundale and High Cup; there's a number of other smaller tarns but only the large ones are named on OS maps. The white strand line at the edge of the water is of feathers - black-headed gulls nest in the area.
