Scar Lathing, Cumbria

Stormy Upper Eskdale

Uploader's Comments

Brief bursts of sunlight flash across the fellsides as low cloud blocks out the bulk of Scafell Pike. Beyond the low ridge of Scar Lathing the great rock buttress of Dow Crag ('Esk Buttress' to rock climbers) is wreathed in mist. This is wild Lakeland at its most elemental.
