Scandale Tarn is located among grassy hummocks below Little Hart Crag at the head of the long Scandale valley. It has an outflow to the south. The easiest way to locate it from below is to follow a dry stone wall on the left, along a path up Little Hart Crag. The tarn is then on the left.
