Sallachan Point, Highland

Beacon on Sallachan point

Uploader's Comments

Although marked as a beacon on the OS map, this navigation marker does not have a light, but does make a very distinctive landmark on the flat shingle point of Sallachan Point which extends for almost a kilometre at under 10m above sea level. The shingle promontory extends under water too, producing a large area of shallow water with seaweed particularly to the south of the point.
