Lizzie Leper's Hoose

Uploader's Comments

A mound known locally as Lizzie Leper's Hoose where legend has it that a rough hovel was once built in the hills, far from habitation, for a woman thought to be suffering from leprosy. There are the remains of some kind of small stone structure at the southern end that could well be this. The mound itself may be an altogether older construction and there are signs of a passage entering it from the east - or it may just be a limestone outcrop.
