The west coast of this relatively low point (headland) on the south east coast of Islay is very difficult to access on foot due to the rocky nature of the land on this side and low boggy ground to its east. Sea kayaks make the ideal way to explore this rugged coastline but the lenticular clouds above the rounded summit of Beinn Bheigier warn of wind. As soon as we rounded the point we hit gusty force 7 winds coming down out of the mountains and blowing straight offshore. You need to be an experienced sea kayaker to venture out in these conditions.
