A view from access land on the chalk scarp overlooking the Nadder valley, with the western edge of Burcombe Ivers, the belt of woodland lower down the slope. Down below, the field boundary on the left with a line of four isolated trees, and the tree-lined stretch it leads to, mark the line of the A30. Pond Copse is the small wood in the centre just across the road, and the line of trees along a field boundary leading towards it away from the camera marks the parish boundary between Barford St Martin (right) and Compton Chamberlayne. The blue on the right is a field of flax.
