Liath Bheinn stands at 664m, above the east side of Glen Avon; the summit area is heather covered with a cairn marking the highest point. The distant snow patched mountains are some of the highest Cairngorm summits from Ben Avon at the left to Cairn Gorm itself at the right. The Graham of Cnap Chaochan Aitinn is the middle distance hill.
