Detail of The Priory

Uploader's Comments

This is all you can see of the building from Prior Park. It was first built as the head gardener's cottage c.1740, and this view is of part of the 19C enlargement. It was further enlarged as a school in the 20C. The name is partly justified by the use of stone from a former priory not far away. The cusped window-heads form a link with religious architecture.
