The White Horse, Quorn, Leics.

Uploader's Comments

This pub, situated at the Station Road and Leicester Road (A6) crossroads, originated in 1769 at the time when Quorn was still known as Quorndon. The village's name was shortened from Quorndon in 1889 to avoid confusion with the Derbyshire village of Quarndon. The pub was first referred to as "The White Horse" in official documents in 1787. At some point the entrance was moved to its present position in Station Road. The mock Tudor cladding is also a later addition.
