This is the footpath between Prince's Plain at Bromley Common and Parkfield Recreation Ground, Whitebeam Avenue and the woods of Crofton Heath. To the left is Bromley Golf Course while to the right are Richmal Crompton Fields. The latter, which includes a playground, was named after the writer of the 'Just William' books. Richmal Crompton lived at Bromley Common after she retired from teaching and died at Chislehurst in 1969 - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richmal_Crompton
