The fence line acts as a boundary in a number of ways: it's a physical boundary of course and presumably a division between land holdings - the stone has the letters DP cut into the south face. Additionally the fence marks the boundary between Powys and Gwynedd; it also marks the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. Cefn Gwyntog is the bulky mountain in the distance.
