Silted up lead mining reservoir on Cow Rake

Uploader's Comments

This silted-up pond is held back by an earth bank dam, and is one of several old lagoons on Cow Rake Sike, apparently associated with the East Cowgreen Lead Mine. The whole area is riddled with old workings, and a line of shafts crosses the Cow Green reservoir track at The Rods ( [[[2245363]]] ), following a vein whose line is just south of this photo.
