The railway viaduct over the Tees just upstream from Barnard Castle has been gone over 40 years; surely a case of railway vandalism, as it would have provided an excellent walking & cycle path across the river with spectacular views. A local guidebook suggested that the western abutment could be approached for a close examination and for the view. This particular photographer went as far as his life insurance policy would allow to take a shot over woodland [the Tees is down there somewhere] towards Barnard Castle.
