Over the course of the 20th century, Sandy Lane seems to have dwindled on maps from a clearly-marked lane lined with trees to a dotted suggestion. Some of the trees and stonework from an old wall remain but the route is overgrown and impassable. It is not a public right of way, except where it coincides with the path from Parkgate to Delbert.
