Oxenhall, Gloucestershire

Lock Cottage, Oxenhall

Uploader's Comments

Seen from the churchyard, this recently restored lock house dates from 1838 and was the work of the engineer Stephen Ballard. The Hereford to Gloucester canal was a late runner in the canal age and was spectacularly unsuccessful. Its restoration is making slow but steady progress.
