Pevsner dates the tower to the late 12th century "with a west lancet and paired lancets as bell openings under four-centred hoods." Munro Cautley also considers that it is "probably Norman", but Bill Goode assigns it to the Middle Saxon period. The tower is 56ft (17m) tall and 9ft (3m) internal diameter. There is only one bell in the tower. The 14th-century south porch, with its damaged open tracery, can also be seen.
