Old Mill Pond, Oxfordshire

Shingle-hung cottage at Woolstone

Uploader's Comments

The wall is shingled, the roof thatched. I was surprised to see shingle-hanging in this area - and particularly on a residential property. In my experience shingles are most often met with much further east, in Surrey and in Essex. Even there, much the most frequent use is for cladding church steeples - shingle-hanging on residential properties is rare.
