A plantation of larch trees stand out with their autumn colours in this view near Ampleforth. Looking a little west of north across the gap between the Howardian and Hambleton Hills towards the Kilburn White Horse. To the right of the smudge which is the white horse, and just above the larches is Byland Abbey.
