Midhowe Chambered Cairn

Uploader's Comments

Originally built ca.3500 B.C. and discovered in 1932 by a landowner, the huge Midhowe Chambered Cairn is over 75 feet long and is divided by pairs of upright slabs into 12 compartments, several of which contained stone benches. The remains of 25 people were found in the compartments, and pottery was also recovered.
