Ravensroost Wood is a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Reserve, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). http://www.wiltshirewildlife.org/Reserves/ravensroostwood It is one of the largest remnants of the medieval Royal Hunting Forest of Braydon, and parts of it are a good example of ancient woodland habitat which has been continuously wooded since at least 1600 AD.
