Before development,far left is now the rear of Homebase but here is what was Ruston Boilerworks that closed in the 1972. (I think that this building was the steel or tube store.) Next is the main office block with contracts and admin at ground level and drawing office on the first floor. The gap between the buildings was a track to the staff car park. The right of the row of houses was a small corner shop that looks as if it was closed by this date. Right of this is a scrap yard that must have been close to the end of its life by this date as well.
